We understand and agree that the workplace / business will provide a suitable vehicle for use in training and assessment. For the final assessment, the vehicle and load must meet the following conditions:
Your vehicle must:
- Be the correct class for the licence you want.
- Be loaded to at least 75% of its legal GVM/GCM. Evidence required (weighbridge ticket, no older than 48 hours).
- Have the load properly restrained (as per Load Restraint Guide).
- Be registered, roadworthy, and fully insured (comprehensive cover).
Vehicles you cannot use:
- Special purpose vehicles (e.g. cranes, roadwork vehicles, farm machinery)
- Federal Interstate Registered Vehicles (unless you have a permit)
- Vehicles carrying livestock
- Vehicles carrying dangerous goods
- Armoured vehicles
- Dual control vehicles
- Vehicles on trade plates
- Buses, coaches or motorhomes (ask TTA if unsure)
A note on transmission: If your employee completes the assessment in an automatic or synchromesh vehicle, the upgraded licence will carry that restriction—unless they already hold an unrestricted licence at HR or above.
